Talking Drawing at the Gallery

Get inside the minds of our region’s leading contemporary artists, while surrounded by the stunning backdrop of the renowned Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award (JADA), at Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery on Friday 23rd February.

Media Release.

The JADA Artist Panel is a special opportunity to hear from three JADA finalists, all celebrated artists who call our region home with unique insights into all things drawn.

The panel trio of Chris Hundt, Michael Langley and JP Willis promises a lively conversation when they open up about their work, inspirations and artistic processes. Art lovers are encouraged to ask their burning questions about drawing during this informative evening, lead by Gallery Coordinator, Cath Fogarty.

JADA is recognised as one of Australia’s richest drawing awards, attracting the best of the nation’s contemporary works, with prize money totalling $40,000. 2016 was a record year for entries in the biennial prize established by Grafton Regional Gallery in 1988 and judged by patron, Ken Done AM.

After a successful tour of regional galleries in Queensland and New South Wales, the impressive collection of 47 JADA finalists is on show in Coffs Harbour until March 3rd.

Join the JADA artist panel for a relaxed Friday evening of stimulating discussion and inspiring art while enjoying drinks and refreshments.

Hosted by the Friends of Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery with proceeds going towards building the gallery’s future collection for the community.
