Storm and heavy rain warning for Coffs Coast

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to increase over the New South Wales Mid North Coast between Taree and Coffs Harbour on Friday, with heavy falls possible.

An official BOM Warning

Rainfall will increase over the weekend as a deepening low pressure system approaches the southeast Queensland and northeast New South Wales coasts.

This low may generate heavy rain, damaging winds and possible coastal erosion.

Over the next 4 days, widespread 100-200mm of rain is forecast from the New South Wales Mid North Coast to coastal south eastern Queensland, with isolated higher falls in excess of 300mm possible.

Heavy falls will likely to lead to flash flooding in the coming days with riverine flooding also possible.
