Kelly Austin wins 2019 STILL art award

A large crowd attended the announcement of the winner of the 2019 STILL Award last Friday evening , including Mayor Denise Knight, with Friends of The Gallery President, Heather McKinnon. Also in attendance was Cr. Michael Addendorf, Cr.George Cecato and Council General Manager Steve McGrath.

STILL is a biennial, acquisitive award for artworks in the genre of still life, in all mediums. The award is open to artists at all stages of their careers. First Prize is $30,000.

NSW Minister for the Arts and Culture Don Harwin MLC opening the Still Awards Exhibition at the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery on Friday night.
The winning entry for the 2019 STILL award created by Kelly Austin from Tasmania, “Stilted Composition 43 2018”.
It earns Kelly $30,000 and the work becomes a part of the collection of the Coffs Harbour Regional Art Gallery.
The winning entry was one of 760 entries received.
The Judge was Rebecca Coates, curator of the Shepparton Art Museum

The 2019 STILL Award exhibition featuring over 50 works will remain on exhibition until 30 November at the Coffs Harbour Regional Art Gallery. Entry is free.
