Grafton ghosts head Comets going into last round of Group 2 before finals

In the game 15 round of the Tooheys New CRL the Grafton Ghosts prevailed 26-4 over cross-river rivals South Grafton Rebels SRLFC in sweltering conditions at Frank McGuren Field to move to the top of the Group 2 ladder after Bellingen upstaged Coffs Harbour.

One round of games remaining to complete the competition season to determine teams and positions for the semi final series.

The washed out games from 4 July will be played next weekend.

South Grafton Rebels have an unassailable lead in Reserve Grade and will finish Minor Premiers. Coffs Harbour Comets League Tag are undefeated and will finish as Minor Premiers.

The Under 18 competition is tight with next week’s games critical to determine semi final places.

In the last competition game next weekend Woolgoolga play Coffs; Bellingen play Ghosts & Rebels play Macksville.Ghosts on 18 points jump to outright leaders in First grade with Comets ahead of Macskville both on 16 points separated by For & Against averages. Bellingen ahead of Rebels both on 12 points separated by For & Against.
