Could Coffs Harbour airport become an international freight hub?

The State Government has awarded a contract to KPMG to investigate the feasibility of upgrading an existing regional airport or building a new airport to ship the state’s fresh produce to lucrative markets overseas, including China, American and Japan.

“International freight airports would open up opportunities for regional NSW to access higher value markets, and increase profits on some of the best produce in the world, grown right here in regional NSW” Deputy Premier John Barilaro said.

All regional airports are being considered – the locations can be seen below.
